Yearbook Life is pleased to announce the addition of online ad design to its comprehensive online solution! This exciting new tool allows parents to design their student dedication ads at home without any involvement from the yearbook staff. Like all of Yearbook Life’sservices, this saves time and headaches! The system was designed to be as user-friendly as possible. The service is completely free for your schools. Yearbook ad designers are charged a nominal fee for using the online design system.
How it works:
If you desire, parents can purchase their ad online through your personalized Yearbook Life school ordering portal. Alternatively, you can accept payments at school and still allow parents to use the online ad design system.
The parent will be able to choose a template layout of ad designs based on the ad size purchased.
Once the template is chosen, the parent will be able to upload and place high-resolution photos and enter text into the template layout. (Alternatively, if the parent does not have access to a scanner, they can mail Yearbook Life photos, and we can scan them into the system for a nominal fee.) The Yearbook Life system will ensure photos scanned by parents are high enough resolution for yearbook printing.
Once the ad is designed, the parent is asked to approve it.
Upon approval, the yearbook staff is sent a link to download a PDF that is print-ready. This PDF can be placed in industry-standard design software such as Adobe® InDesign®. Alternatively, for a small fee, Yearbook Life can send the yearbook staff a CD containing the ad in either PDF or JPG format.
These services will automatically be included at no cost to your school starting in August 2009 when portals for the 2009-2010 School Year are activated.
